About this policy

This is a generic privacy policy for freight carrier and brokerage businesses. It explains how ASE North Logistics (ASE North LLC, “we” or “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit this website, request a rate, ship with us, haul for us or apply to work with us. Each shipment also moves under a separate signed agreement and rate confirmation.

Information we collect

Shippers, consignees and brokers. Names, company, job title, phone numbers, email addresses, pickup and delivery addresses, appointment times, freight details (commodity, weight, dimensions, equipment and dates), reference numbers, special instructions and billing contacts.

Carriers and owner-operators. Company name, MC and USDOT numbers, contact details, certificates of insurance, the W-9 tax form, the signed carrier agreement, equipment details, driver names and phone numbers for dispatch and tracking, and the payment details needed to pay your invoices. We never request banking details through this website.

Job applicants. Your name, contact details, the role you are interested in, where you are based, your experience, and anything you choose to send us, such as a CV or an MC packet.

Website visitors. Anything you type into a form on this website, plus information collected automatically: the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location.

Where it comes from

Most of it comes from you, through this website, email, phone or the documents you send us. Some comes from the other businesses on a load, such as a shipper naming a delivery contact or a carrier naming its driver. When we vet a carrier, we also check public sources such as the FMCSA carrier record. Website information is collected automatically, as described under Website analytics and cookies.

How we use it

We use personal information to answer enquiries and quote freight; to book, dispatch, track and deliver shipments and keep everyone on the load updated; to verify a carrier’s operating authority, insurance and safety record before it hauls a load; to invoice shippers, pay carriers and handle claims; to protect our customers, carriers and business against freight fraud, double brokering and identity theft; to keep the records that transportation, tax and accounting rules require; to consider job applications; and to understand how this website is used and improve it.

Who we share it with

Carriers on your load receive the shipping details they need to pick it up and deliver it.

Shippers, consignees and brokers on a load receive the carrier and driver details and the tracking updates they need.

Service providers that run our website, forms, email, analytics and business systems for us receive the information those services need.

Insurers and claims adjusters receive the details of a shipment when a claim is made on it.

Government agencies, courts and law enforcement receive information when the law requires it, or when it is needed to protect people, property or our legal rights.

A buyer or successor may receive it if all or part of the business is sold or merged.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact details with other shippers, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you asked us for a rate.

Website analytics and cookies

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, their device type and approximate location. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this, and it does not tell us who you are. You can block these cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. How Google uses this data is set out in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Our website management platform also counts page views, so we can see which pages are visited.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and for as long as transportation, tax and accounting rules require us to keep shipment and payment records. After that we delete it, or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet or by email. If you receive a message that appears to come from us asking you to change payment or banking details, call us on (305) 587-5043 before acting on it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, subject to the records the law requires us to keep. You can ask us to stop sending you marketing emails at any time. Depending on where you live, your state’s privacy law may give you additional rights. Children

This website and our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Other websites

This website links to other sites, such as the FMCSA carrier record, Google and LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date on this page shows when it last changed.
